CHAPTER 1
PART 1
Hello, my name is Kaley Ray Montague. Currently I am seventeen years old and still going through the typical emotional phases. I decided to write this journal because I am bored to death. Later this year I am heading out to Stetson University in Deland, Florida (*REAL*) to major in literature. My dream is to be the new J.K. Rowling or Stephanie Meyer. Sadly, those are the only ambitions I have and I don't have a first job yet. People call me “Kaley the Hermit” because, as you can guess, I stay in my perfectly air conditioned room talking to people on Facebook. My friends Linda, Claire, Bjorn and my BFF, Samantha, are the Cool Dukes of the Rhombus Table group on Facebook. It's really too bad everyone had to leave for college and probably won't see them for a while. Linda is going to UCLA to be cardiologist, Claire went to NYU to study graphic designing, Bjorn went to Oxford to study Literature, and Samantha is going to Harvard to be an oncologist, which she will probably find a cure for cancer. At least I have my friends Amy and Milly around but in time they too have to leave for art school. Lately I have been crying myself to sleep while listening to Everybody by Backstreet Boys. To make matters worse I don't have a boyfriend because I dumped my last one like a year ago and I have three little sibling always in my business. At least I chat with Samantha time to time to keep me busy. She always tells me these cool stories of Boston and how they have great food. She keeps inviting me to visit but I simply reply I don't have any money. Not this time folks. This time I am going to take a bus to Boston and visit her. See y'all next time!
Part 2 *NOT REAL. BASED ON REAL PEOPLE WITH NAMES CHANGED*
Guys I am in a bus!!! Seriously, many of these people are elderly or they give me this beat-you-up look. Just to recap my name is Kaley and I heading to Boston to visit my friend, Samantha. I told my parents that I left and they didn't even care! A day ago I told Sam I am on the way and she totally scolded me for not asking or telling her a week ago. I sort of feel bad but who cares! I am going away from the state for the first time! Meanwhile, there was this super hot guy glancing my way. At first thought he wanted to rob me of my chips but then I realized this dude might be interested in me. I greeted him and found out his name is Edward Rich and on his way to go to Penn State. I truly found myself entranced with his eyes and we had a great conversation. That is until he left the bus but without giving me his number and e-mail. As I set it down on my lap, the piece of paper got sucked in the air vent! I was so devastated that I lost and can almost hear Sam scolding me again. A few hours later I arrived in Boston. Sam ran towards me and we rejoiced. I told her of my bus trip and as I suspected she berated me for the millionth time but this time it was much harsher. After she cooled down, we went to a carnival which is supposed to have a hot dog eating contest. The grand prize was a thousand dollars and Samantha knew I could win this. My competitors were big burly men with wonderful beards! POP was the shot gun and I dug in. One by one I gulped those hot dogs. There is a secret to eating them but I'll never tell! After ten minutes, I finished. Sam was screaming and jumping up and down. I felt very tired and my eyes were very weary. I then saw Sam when she gave me this scared look until I got hit in the head and resulted me going unconscious. When I woke up I was wearing a potato sack inside a cathedral. I asked the priest where I was and he spoke in a different language until I told him I spoke English. He then told me in English I am in Rome, Italy! Holy...
Part 3
Hey it's Kaley! So many things have been happening to me since I arrived in Rome. The priest I met at the cathedral made me his apprentice to be an exorcist. Learning all of those freaky stuff terrified me resulting me running away. As I was walking in the country I met this rice farmer named Alfonso Antonio Ames. He needed a person to help out in the farm and me with no money and no way to get back home, agreed and started a new life with Alfonso. What I believed was three years, he and I adopted ten children, five girls and five boys, and started our own baseball team. It was successful but it soon got boring. Living with eleven other people got to be more hectic than my three younger siblings who are probably much older now. Now that I think of it, I must be 28 now. Man, how times fly by. You know how history repeats itself? Well so does diseases and it resulted in my whole family passing away and leaving me all alone. How did I survive? Who knows and maybe I was immune to it because of all of the shots I took as a child in the states. Just like ten years ago, I was on my way to another journey. After selling the farm I bought a ticket not to the states but to Japan. Since it has been a long time since I have been away, I doubted anyone has missed me. Anyways, I love Japanese culture and cartoons. On the plane, I thought about the last ten years. Living with Alfonso (we never got married) and taking care of our adopted children was a splendid period. It makes me go back to the time of the hot dog competition back in Boston and if I didn't get knocked out what would my life turn out like. So I end this session of my diary and wait to see what is in store for me in Japan. The funny thing is as I entered the shuttle it said China. Oh well, I think it is going to Japan. Farewell!
Part 4
Another entry, another crazy thing. A long time ago, when I still lived in the states, many people have told me I was the unluckiest girl in the world and I starting to think they are right. So you know I was on my way to Japan, well that didn't happen and I ended up in Taiwan. In Taiwan, I really thought I was in Japan until someone who spoke English told me where I was. I sort of freaked out but I decided to get the best of it and stay there for a while. My gut feeling told me to get on a ship to go to Japan but I love the thrill and the adventure of mystery. After five minutes I was kidnapped. By whom? Well it was no other than Sam, Bjorn, Linda, and Claire. At first I thought it was a coincidence they were there but then they put me in the trunk of their car. After a long drive, we stopped in a wooded/ jungle area. Claire quickly threw me on the ground and started asking me questions of “where it is”. I had no clue what they meant until Sam realized I was telling the truth. Samantha calmly told me the truth. My name is not Kaley Ray Montague but Rayne Lake Guemont from Midland, Texas and was born in 1898. Sam, Bjorn, Linda, Claire and I are agents for a government containment facility of powerful artifacts called Area 22. All five of us were given this elixir to age slowly so we could protect the facility from the world. Apparently one day I decided to escape and stole the forgotten necklace that replaces a person's memories and changes their past to something they wished for. As a result I was put into a typical teenager life and thought I was someone different. Then the others found where I was, befriended me and tried to trigger my memories. Now here we are in a jungle in Taiwan with no clue where the necklace is. Linda then realized the necklace had transformed into a bracelet which I was wearing right now. I wanted to give it to them but the bracelet wouldn't come off. After a long struggle, Sam came up to me and said, “ I'm sorry” before knocking me out.
Part 5
In the end, I was happy. I woke up in a hospital in Boston and the nurse had told me a baseball hit me on the head and I went unconscious. When I went to the bathroom, I scared myself to death because I found out I had aged to about 40 years old. Later my husband, who I found out was Edward Rich (the same guy I met in the bus a long time ago) came with our two twins, Susan and Serena. I was later informed I am a successful author and with a wonderful family. The rest of my years were splendid with happiness and joy. Soon my children had developed their own pathways and by the time I was 80, Edward had died. Of course I was sad, but we spent many great years together. Many time I think about my crazy time in Italy and Taiwan but I mainly wonder if it was all real like me being an agent for the government. I desperately wanted answers and I did when it was my 90th birthday. I stepped outside to my front porch when she arrived. It was Sam who didn't age a single bit. She wanted to see how my life went and wanted to give me a present. She told to not open it until I was ill which would happen in 5 months. How she knew that I had no clue but Samantha said the present would be the great finale of this life and told me to enjoy the next five months. When Sam left I felt this emptiness in me and I realized I wanted to tell her I missed her and she was a good friend. The next five months I had spend with my children and grandchildren. I found out my heart was dying and I did have the chance to get a new one but I decided against it and realized it was time. As I opened the present, I found it was this journal. I now know why Sam said this was my great finale, I was to write the last part of my life that I loved so much. So now I end this with something I started in the beginning. Hello, my name is Kaley Montague Rich. Currently, I am 90 years old and I am proud of who I am.
Epilogue
I awoke in my bedroom from when I was a teenager and found my journal on my bed. When I looked in the mirror I was seventeen again. I went to read my journal until I found nothing written until I saw the forgotten necklace and realized that life was a lie. Better make make the best of it and do it all over again.
I truly hoped you enjoyed this and have a great day!
